Did you know…
As the Toastmaster, General Evaluator or Table Topics master (or Contest Master of a contest), it is your duty to lead the applause for speakers and evaluators?
Best practice? Have your hands empty as you begin the introduction. As you prepare to say their name for the last time, say “…please help me welcome, Joe Toastmaster” and then begin the applause.
When the speaker finishes, you begin the applause as you approach the lectern.
Simple? Yes. Forgotten? Sometimes.
